Garrison Wedding: Fiona and Rick
energy and country elegance. Amazing!
Fiona was a classic beauty with her blonde curls drawn into an updo at the nape of her neck. She and Rick made their entrance to chorus crescendo of, “Just Say Yes” by Snow Patrol.
THE DETAILS: The bridesmaids wore sexy, one shoulder wine-colored gowns and carried bouquets of peach roses. Floral arrangements of hydrangeas, peach roses, pale green and blue added a touch of autumn color.
The cake topper was adorable! A wooden figure bride and groom painted to look just like Fiona and Rick, down to the biggest blue eyes you’ve ever seen. Guests were given favors of tulip bulbs.
This was actually the first time we’ve worked a wedding reception with a band, and it was a pleasure. A three piece Irish band, accordion, violin and guitar performed for the cocktail hour and then again during the reception to lead us in Irish waltzes and the grand finale: a chaotic but spirited the Siege of Ennis.
By the end of the night we were in full 90’s college sing along mode with the Violent Femmes, James and Journey. Ah, we just can’t get enough! (That was a Depeche Mode reference, in case you didn’t catch it.)
It was so great to be back at the Garrison to catch the gorgeous sunset, listen to talented musicians and bask in the energy of an enthusiastic crowd. Thanks for having us!
