When I planned my wedding in Poughkeepsie, New York way back in 2001, all I wanted was a fun party surrounded by my closest family and friends–a wedding that really represented US. My husband Jeff and I were brand new wedding disc jockeys and I was so dead set against being cheesy and having the same cookie-cutter wedding I’d seen a million times, that I decided to DJ the wedding MYSELF!

Okay, that wasn’t such a great idea. Don’t get me wrong; I had an elegant, intimate wedding, but there wasn’t much dancing without someone to read the crowd and play the right music. After all, I was more than a little distracted that day.

I learned something the hard way:

There’s nothing worse than a wedding where your guests don’t have fun.
